April 4 & 5: Easter Weekend
Start the season by welcoming Spring at Walnut Hills! It may be early in the year, but we're planning family-friendly fun for kids of all ages! This weekend's activities will feature kids' crafts and an Easter Egg Hunt, as well as Sunday morning services and a special themed hay ride (weather permitting). You may even catch a glimpse of the Easter Bunny!
May 8 - 10: Care Camps Weekend
This weekend we'll be raising money for KOA Care Camps with our third annual raffle and silent auction, featuring GREAT prizes from local businesses and artisans. We'll also be making gifts for Mom, playing candy bar bingo, and racing rubber duckies in our creek.
Learn more about KOA Care Camps, which send children with cancer to camp.
May 22 - 25: Memorial Day Weekend
Help us kick off the season with the opening of our pool and a party with local band Prime on Sunday night! With everyone off from work and school, this is the perfect time to play messy games, make crafts, and compete in rubber ducky races, and a blind-entry cornhole tournament. There is a three night minimum for this weekend.
June 19 - 21: Father's Day Weekend
Let's celebrate Dad with our Second Annual Family Olympics. Parents and their kids can sign up to compete in events like the egg carry, three-legged race, and more. Saturday night we'll be having karaoke!
Organized activities not your thing? Bring your fishing gear and head to the lake, or pick up some horseshoes in the office and see who'd got the best arm. Kids 17 and under are free this weekend (although, as always, we ask that there remain a six person limit per site).
June 26 - 28: Everyone's Birthday
Get your face painted in the morning, or make a birthday card for that relative who's birthday you always forget. Meet at our pavilion Saturday afternoon to decorate cupcakes ($) and play birthday party games (Pin the Tail on the Donkey, anyone?).
Be sure to stop by the pavilion in the evening for LIVE MUSIC with Chris Gantzer!
July 3 - 5: Independence Day
Fireworks, wagon rides, horseshoes, site decorating contests...what's not to love about Independence Day? Celebrate America in style at Walnut Hills! We'll be having fireworks on the evening of July 3rd so you have a chance to go to a local park on the 4th and see them again - or, stay here and party with Slym Pykins!
There is a three night minimum on this weekend.
July 17 - 19: Pirates Weekend
Avast, matey! We hope ye'll be dockin' yer schooner at the Staunton KOA. Bring a pal and compete in Captain Peg-Leg's Three Legged Obstacle Course, and wear yer best pirate duds on the wagon ride to see if ye win a prize.
July 24 - 26: Christmas in July
Santa will be coming to Walnut Hills for vacation this weekend! Parents, bring your cameras on the wagon ride to catch a rare summer photo of your kids with Santa (great for your holiday cards!), make ornaments, get the kids' faces painted, and decorate your site for a chance at FREE CAMPING.
July 31 - August 2: KOA Scout Weekend
Get your badges as a KOA Scout in fire-building, the scavenger hunt, coloring, and more! Enjoy the (hopefully fantastic!) mid-July weather by getting outside and enjoying all the activities we have to offer.
August 7 - 9: Virginia Luau
Pack your grass skirt and your coconuts - we're having a luau, Virginia-style! We'll be serving up delicious ribs and hot dog plates ($) and enjoying the (hopefully) fantastic weather.
We'll even have LIVE MUSIC with Chris Gantzer!
August 14 - 16: Wet 'n' Wild
Mid-August is a hot time around here, so come out and be ready to get wet! We're going to play tug-of-war (losers land in the creek!), race rubber duckies for Care Camps, throw water balloons, and don't forget the wet n wild wagon ride!
August 21 - 23: Hoe-Down
Giddyup, all you cowpokes, and come on down to Walnut Hills for a good ole time. Our cowboy-themed weekend will feature a costume contest, themed wagon ride, and more!

Pre-season is well underway and it's time to celebrate the beginning of another football season! Join us for a game of touch football and be sure to fly the colors of your favorite teams!
September 4 - 7: Labor Day Weekend
It's the end of summer, so be sure to stop by for one last laid-back weekend! Take one last swim in our beautiful pool, play games with the kids, and see how your chili fares in our Third Annual Chili Cook-Off (subject to participation).
Join us for LIVE MUSIC and a party with local band Prime on Sunday night! There is a three night minimum on this weekend.
September 18 - 20: VKR Appreciation
VKR Members who stay as paying guests on Friday, Sept. 18 get Saturday, Sept. 19 FREE as our way of saying thank you!

October 23 - 25 and October 30 - November 1: Halloween Weekends
